The Indian women’s team secured a fantastic victory over Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, held in Dubai. Chasing a target of 106 runs, India achieved the milestone of 108/4 in 18.5 overs. Shafali Verma’s impressive knock of 32 runs in 35 balls, including three fours, contributed significantly to India’s triumph. Jemimah Rodrigues showcased her prowess by registering 23 runs off 28 balls, while the Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, played a crucial role with her 29 runs off 24 deliveries. The Indian bowlers, led by Arundhati Reddy, restricted Pakistan to 105/8 in 20 overs, with Nida Dar top-scoring for Pakistan with 28 runs off 34 balls. The victory marked India’s first win in the campaign, following their defeat to New Zealand.
